Solar FAQ’s
1. How much will the system cost?
This does vary from system to system. Our CEC designers will first access your roof then design the best possible system to claim the most out of the rebate to pay your system off ASAP. Our main objective is to give you the most benefit possible from solar energy.
If you still need more information about systems of we haven’t answered your electrical solar questions via our FAQs, you can give us a call on 03 9646 1249 or you can fill in our form via our Solar Services page.
2. Are there finance available?
Yes. There is finance available for all size systems, rent to own or chattel loan. You can always give us a call on 03 9646 1239 to discuss this further with us.
3. What is the interest rate?
The interest rate varies from 4.8%- 7.5%. We use Macquarie Finance to fund most of our deal. They’re very competitive in the market.
4. How long is the finance set up for?
You can set the finance up from 2-7 years with 7 years being the least amount repaid each month.
What do we suggest?
We generally suggest 5 years as a starting point and have found in some cases the savings from solar are more than the monthly repayment. This means that the system has costed our customer nothing with savings made from day 1.
5. Is there a deposit required?
There is no deposit required for solar systems 30KW and under.
6. How long from signup to installation?
For systems under 30kw it can take approx 3-4 weeks from signup to install and for systems over 30kw we allow 2-4 months.
Reason?
This is because the electrical distributor needs to assess our application and determine if the system we’re designing is eligible to be installed on their electricity lines and transformers. Our in-house engineers get involved in this application and submit wiring diagrams and make assumptions to the distributor.
7. What type of solar panels do you use?
We use a range of Tier 1 solar panels. We’re always on the hunt for the newest technology that is cost-effective for the customer and delivers the biggest returns.
8. What type of inverters do you use?
We use ABB and Sunny Boy Inverters for our commercial projects and Goodwe for our domestic projects.
9. How long are the warranties?
Inverter warranties are between 5-10 years with the solar panels having a 25-year performance warranty.
10. Do you have any references?
We have a list of video testimonials on our Testimonials tab and a written list which we provide to you at our consult for your perusal.
11. How long have you been in the industry?
We have been in the solar industry for over 10+ years.
12. How many solar installations have you been involved in?
It’s hard to keep track of all of our solar installations going back to 2007 but, we would estimate to have installed over 9000 PV systems right across Australia.
13. What areas do you work in?
We work in VIC, NSW, TAS and ACT.
14. Is there any new penetrations in the roof?
No. We use clip lock roof brackets or simply use the existing roofing screws. If you ever wanted to take the system off the roof you could and be left with little to no penetrations that need to be sealed.
